Enjoying the spectacular Colorado scenery has never been easier. With over 15 miles of walking and biking trails and over 9,600 acres of explorable hiking land around Lake Pueblo, Pueblo West has an outdoor trail system that can appease any skill level. Horse lovers can delight in reservoir trails as well as many of the biking trails that have been created to share the road with local animal lovers. The equestrian community in Pueblo West features two facilities with arenas, events, and trail riding that can be accessed through these locations as well.

One of Pueblo West’s top attractions is the premier 18-hole golf course.Featuring 7,368 yards of golf from the longest tee for a par of 72. Designed by John Bulla the course includes driving range, pro-shop, restaurant and bar. Rated as a 73.3 with a slope of 125, the public course offers a variety of play for amatuers to skilled players.

Located at 362 Hahns Peak Avenue, Lovell Park serves as the main community park encompassing 21 recreational acres. Covered pavilions, picnic areas, community stage, pool, ballfields, basketball courts, horseshoe pits and public restrooms make it ideal for community gatherings.

Pueblo West residents love their sports and the city maintains 3 ball fields for softball and baseball where two are lighted, a volleyball court, three soccer fields equipped with playground equipment, and a paved basketball court for public use.

230 E. George Drive features 1. 75 acres of basketball courts, picnic tables with grills, plus rentable building for meeting rooms. Additional kitchen and washrooms makes this a welcome area for community programs and family gatherings throughout the year.

A showcase of 12 acres along 230 S. McCulloch Boulevard is a scenic outdoor retreat with fountains, lit flagpoles the Pueblo West Soaring Eagle sculpture, and community Christmas tree. A backdrop for arts and culture, the park is a favorite among residents and non-residents alike.

Four unit asphalt courts are routinely maintained at the end of Civic Center Drive.

An active partner in the growth and development of recreation opportunities, the Pueblo West Parks and Rec department supports a variety of community wide programs for all ages. Dance, yoga, swimming lessons, children’s arts camps, tennis lessons, karate, wellness clinics, self defense, and water aerobics round out the city’s offerings and continually change based on the interest of the area residents.

The active nature of Pueblo West residents means that adults and children alike can find plenty of ways to pursue their love of sport or the outdoors. Because of the high demand for organized activities in the area, residents are encouraged to inquire and sign up early to reserve your participation. Youth athletics of every kind are regularly offered and adults are welcome to join the communities softball, volleyball, and basketball teams.
